The Circular Knockout Challenge 2012

General Rules
  • Open to ALL dogs from All levels
  • There will be a separate competition for each height
  • Handlers may enter more than one dog into a heat and qualify more than one dog for the Final
  • If a handler is drawn against him/herself in a heat they must nominate which dog progresses
  • Only handler and dog combinations that qualify in heats may run in the Final, unless more than one dog is qualified, in which case handlers may nominate a surrogate handler to run one of their dogs in the Final
  • A nominated handler must handle the dog for the duration of the Final
  • The course will be of circular design; however judges may put in deviations from the circle
  • The course may consist of any combination of jumps, tunnels, and weave poles
  • No contacts are permitted
  • There will be separate starting points for each competitor, either running clockwise or anticlockwise, which will be decided by the judge
  • There will be a judge for each dog
  • The main judge will start the heat with a whistle and have the overall decision on who progresses to the next round
  • Dogs will be issued with a running order that must be strictly adhered to
  • Failing to run when due will result in being knocked out and the other dog will go through to the next round
  • In the event of one dog catching up with their opponent the caught dog must give way


Scoring
  • Standard UK Agility Marking will apply
  • 5 Faults = 5 seconds
  • The time will start on the whistle and finishes as the dog crosses the line
  • An eliminations = 100 faults
  • The dog with the lowest score will be deemed the winner
  • Should both dogs be eliminated, the dog that was eliminated first will lose
  • In the event of a tie a runoff will be required
  • Any extraordinary circumstances to be ruled by UK Agility


Final Qualification
  • 4 Heats
  • Top 4 from each heat qualify for the Final
  • The Final will be held at the UK Agility Grand Finals in December
